- constant-speed propeller
- A propeller in which the pitch is adjusted automatically, so that the propeller revolves at a given rate dictated by the pilot and remains at that rate irrespective of maneuvers or throttle position. The pitch of the propeller is altered suitably by a centrifugal governor, so that the original RPM is restored if there is any increase or decrease in RPM. A constant-speed propeller retains an efficient angle of attack over a wide forward speed range by altering the blade angle constantly. This type of propeller is used on multiengine aircraft if it is provided with full feathering capability.
